Stuck need help (Vader)

While we're on the topic of sensors...

I recently acquired a "feel the Force" Obiwan lightsaber.
- the hitch though is it was missing the lamp part which means... I have no clash sensor.

Aside from using a clash sensor from another Sound board, What options do I have???

A. do it without a clash sensor
B. poach one form another toy saber

Well, I was thinking...

Is the entire clash thing just momentary?

Cause if it is couldn't you just wire up another swith to it and press the button and tada Clash noises.. (or am I off my rocker)

Yes you can just hook up a momentary switch and hit it to do the clash....

the item that your arrow is pointing to is a capacitor the sensor is behind it.
the sensor should have a white cap and base with 2 leads and it sits paraliel to the board. ok

So I saw one of the clash sensors from a plastic vader saber and it looked like a pin or nail in the center of a spring. Has anyone tried to make their own clash sensor?

I was thinking that you can mount a spring through a stock board and mount a nail through the board in the middle and wire it up. It seems like it could work. If not, has anyone found something at a place like radio shack?
