From what I gathered at The Dented Helmet, which is one of the best places for Mandalorian costumes, snaps are the best way to go. Velcro (even the industrial strength) is unreliable, and is usually only used to help support snaps. Magnets are useless for holding armor up unless you have those super-powerful magnets, though they work marvelously for closing gauntlets and pouches.

Yup, snaps or magnets are the best bet...
TDH is good for reading up, but the Mercs site has more info on being original and modifying your costume beyond Jango or Boba.
In either case, there's a ton of info on both!

I use both velcro and snaps. Sometimes the snaps come off the armor, and when that happens...the armor could fall off. Having velcro as a backup keeps it in place.
