Are you still on this kick?

Not sure what you mean by "fit" a 1 1/4" sink tube. Around the outside? Have you ever looked inside a piece of bamboo? They have varying inside diameters. Everywhere there a ring, the ID gets a little smaller. There's no way you can tell what the ID is from that site, you can only be reasonably sure of the OD.

i know, i'm just going to cut out the insides of the bamboo and the ID does not have to be exact and if its too big then i'll cut it up some more. i'll worry about the ID i just need to know what a suitable size would be for the OD.

You can't figure that out for yourself with a calculator? There's 25.4 mm/inch.

You'd need something at least 1 1/2" in diameter, which would give you about a 1/8" wall thickness.

You'd need to get the 40-45mm, though you could end up with a 1 3/4" diameter piece of bamboo that way. I hope you don't have real small hands.

Yeah, when i did mine i had to test fit several before I luckily found one that fit just right. Also, its really hard to get the material at every joint to be smooth inside.
