    Default Maul's WP-2 (Waterproof #2) Picture intensive

    I'm totally bumming this naming system off Jay Gon

    This is my second waterproof saber. It runs a 3W Red/Orange LED off a 1000mA buckpuck. The blade is a thick walled corbin double wrap. In the bathtub pictures it is a thin walled PolyP blade, but that one started leaking shortly after those pics, so I swapped to a thick walled one. The power source is 4 alkaline AA batteries. There are some pictures in here with this saber's brother, WP-1. There are 6 holes on the emitter, all equidistant from each other. What a pain to drill

    And here is my favorite picture of this saber...

    Onto videos.

    And here I was led to believe Lightsabers shorted out in water

    Great work there LM And I love the videos. Just brilliant and oh so fun to watch pity they aren't a bit longer though.

    Btw, for blade leakages, what about a flat rubber O-Ring inside the Blade holder (that wont obscure the lens), and the blade pushed up nice and tight against it creating a seal?

    Great job. Now you need to add a fishing reel to it. LOL

    HAHHAHAHAHAH.... SWEEEEET!!

    LORD MAUL, that is such ownage, I love it, hahahahah

    It's kind of funny... I used to think "what's the point" about doing this kind of thing until I saw Ultra's vid of some of the things going into the swimming pool... and then just discussing it as being a possible thing to do in a more controlled way... and NOW we have Maul pretty much showing that it can be done in a way that sustains the saber at least a little while!

    AWESOME.

    It's true, some may say... "who's gonna need that"... but I say--a few shots of this will make 'em believers:

    * Bad guy in costume with LED saber running...
    * Good guy in costume with LED saber running after him...
    * Bad guy sees pool/lake/water... leaps in!
    * Good guy follows...
    * They fight a bit underwater!!!
    * A couple more shots of fighting in between getting breathes of air (whether left in the film or not!)
    * Someone gets "killed"
    * Floater!!
    * Winner exits... shuts saber off...
    * All done!

    That video would be pretty epic for the LED saber community!

    Great work, Maul. I would TOTALLY be down to film that stuff... thaass RIGHT!!

    I think this water proof saber is the better of the two, as for a movie idea (thanks novastar for the idea in your post) two people are dualing and one trips, falls, and splooshes into a pool where they have a duel and later one sees a floater.

    Looks great LM even better than the first waterproof saber in my opinion

    Awesome!
    While not entirely practical, the waterproof saber stays, like my cereal, crunchy in milk. Er... doubt.

    I would be all over making one of my own, as I live right on a river, but it's too murky. DX

    Mind if I ask how you sealed the LED/Optics in the BH?
