    ok so i have spent about two days looking for the answer to this and i personally could not find it.

    can i run the LUX III kit from the store with out the resistor? theres going to be no sound and just a stunt saber for now.

    It all depends on the voltage requirements of the LUX III you are using, it can be done.

    ok , what are the specs for that P4?

    ok the minum forward voltage is 2.0.
    the typical is 2.3
    the Max is 3.0

    and i plan on running it with the 4AA setup.

    4AA= 6 volts....

    Unless you want to blow the LED i would recommend getting a resistor.
