Actually, the saberbuilder has rivets so that you can plan how to rivet on shrouds. Rivets would be a bad idea for a blade holder.
I'd do what J-Lo said, and go with a set screw.

The types of rivets that use a hammer to set them also need an anvil on the underside of the rivet. That's not the kind that you would use on something like this, so I think you may be mistaken.

The 'sam browne' studs used on Jedi belts can be found in the hammer and anvil rivet type [though the screw post type are much better] since that works ok with a flat piece of leather...wouldn't work on a curved hilt eh...besides in most cases it would be better to use screws than rivets to secure shrouds etc on hilts in case you ever needed to remove the shroud for maintenance repair or [more likely in this hobby] upgrading.

Heh, some how that doesn't surprise me that you have one. I sure don't know any other females that have a rivet gun.
