Glad you guys like it. It may have sound if I ever get my Ultraboard back.

Eventually, when I hear back from some relatives that have buffalo, I'm going to replace the PVC cap on the base with a blunt horn. Other than that I really like it.

Thought about taking a very small drill bit and making a tiny hole in the center of every star on the thing so if I had it sheathed at night all the little stars would light up... Just not sure if it would weaken it too much structurally.

Bamboo I randomly found at Earl Mays Garden Center. I was kinda lucky and found one that had no splits for that long of a section and was able to have a 1-1/4" sink tube slide perfectly in.

BTW does anybody have a suggestion for a clear coat that could go over the bamboo and the leather to make it permanent?

FYI for anyone wanting to use bamboo: There is a solid wall of material at every joint in the tube. Luckily its kinda like corkboard, and I just used a broom handle to ream the thing out to fit the blade.

Gorgeous. The bead with the leather loop is a brilliant solution, very stylish, very organic. As a cultural anthropologist, I love it, as well as your choice of phrases to burn into the sheath.
