Thread: RGB Star

    Default RGB Star

I was randomly looking around today and came upon this little beasty.

    Linkage!

May be of interest for saber construction considering some of the problems with rebels.

    Just a thought.

A friend of me tested this LED from LED-Tech....not very bright.
I think a white Seoul with Lee filter would be better.

Yeah, the colors on those individually aren’t very bright…about 1 watt. Reminds me of what you would find in the Joe-Jedi saber.

LedEngin 10 watt RGB star is better IMO. Each individual die is similar to a Lux 3, but they’re a bit pricey.

    Thanks for the link though.

yeah these aren't very bright. but i like the pcb. i wish the endor stars came on one of those... or maybe they do? anyways, the individual ones are much brighter especially with a white poly-c blade

    RGB Rebel is brighter.
I have both and have tested both.
The color mixing is slightly better on the Seoul cause the LEDs are smack right together and fit underneath the standard optics better. But I have found that if you use the Tri-Rebels that are mounted close together - a la XWingband - it still works pretty good with the standard optics, although XWing has a semi-custom way of mounting the optics as well.

Roy, that looks great, do you have a mirror in the tip? Other than that, great work.
