The key word there of course was "is".
Which is why the wise man concerns himself not only with what "is" but what "was" and what "will be"...we should "be mindful of the Living Force" yes, and not be blinded to the moment by the future, but we should not be blind to the future in the moment either. The Clone Wars and Empire may have been a failure of the Jedi Order's preoccupation with the Unifying Force...but forgetting there is still a place for it would be just as disastrous, hmmm...
