Thread: broken MR card?

  1. #1

    Default broken MR card?

i have a Yoda MR card that im putting in my saber. when i tested it on my bread board it worked. and after hours of wiring i i finally got it wired up. when i started it it sounded great. but the LED wasnt working. i found out that my wires were backwards (+ on the -) so i fixed that and now it wont work at ALL. i dont know what to do.......

im running two trust fires on it with a 5V regulator on it. and i tried bypassing my regulator with a 6V battery pack to check if the regulator went bad on me so thats not it. ive check the wire connections and there fine. im just lost and kinda aggravated right now because all this hard work has come to this. so can you give me some ideas on whats going on?

The best thing to do is use a multimeter and check your voltages. Start at the source (battery pack and regulator) and work your way through the circuit. Make sure you have voltage at the card V input. If you do, check both sides of the switch and them follow it out to the LED.

Also, posting pictures of the wiring job and the board will allow us to help you more.

    ok, thanks. ill try that.

and i will post the pics tomorrow. or draw a diagram since it would be hard to see in the pic of all the wires.

    here it is!

now i do know that the regulator needs to be on the other side of the recharge port so that it will charge now that i started doing that diagram. but i just went head and did it this way to show that thats how i have it.

It hasn't been a day yet. Please refrain from double posting. When LDM signs on again I'm sure he'll help you out. I'm not sure who has all worked with Yoda boards

Try taking the recharge port out of the circuit and try it with just a normal battery pack. I am not sure of the max voltage a Yoda board can handle, if you have the original battery pack use it. If that don't work, start measuring your voltages starting from the batteries and moving through the circuit to the LED. A multi-meter is a very important tool in troubleshooting sound cards and LED drivers. If you don't have one, I suggest you get one. You can get them pretty cheap. Make sure you get one that will measure voltages (AC and DC) current (AMPs) and resistance (OHMS).

ok, sorry LM. i will do better next time.

LDM told me that the max voltage is 6 volts. and ive tried bypassing my regulator and running a 4AA pack to see if it would work. but still nothing.
