Lightbulb Searching for the perfect battery pack

I insist on being able to recharge my batteries without removing them. I am looking for a 7.2V battery pack to power my saber which will run an UltraSound2.1 and a blue P4 (possibly changing to a LuxV if I think it warrants it). It’s my understanding that the packs Tim sold were 4.8V, so I’m going to need to go outside the shop for this. I’m an RC guy (when the economy was good), so I first checked Tower Hobbies to see what they had to offer that would fit inside the hilt. The bulky car and truck batteries are out, but they do sell some pretty small aircraft and heli packs that may work. They fit, but the problem is the mAh rating on these is 500 or less—which doesn’t spell long run times.

    Here’s what I’m talking about:

Do you guys see anything else that would work better? Will a 7.4V pack work (there are a lot more of them)? Where should I go?

I used the 7.2 rechargable pack Tim used to sell here. I don't know if they are out of stock or not. As him the brand name of the ones he used to sell. I run a LuxV green off it and it works wonderfully.

EDIT: Now that I think of it, I think he had some guy making them for him. Um... check these out. http://www.onlybatteries.com/showite...t1=27&uid=1108

The only bad thing about those is going to be the runtime. It will be like...45 minutes. Lame to the max.

Unfortunately, that pack looks like it will be far too large to fit inside the hilt. The 750 mAh pack Chase suggested is an improvement over the ones I have found, but I agree, a 45 minute run time is pretty lame.

Yeah, I thought about that, but I know I would feel much more comfortable using a pre-made pack.

These are the batts I used:

    http://www.batteryjunction.com/t1eh-gaa2000b.html

or just get these and use a standard batt holder:

solder the tabs as required and connect power wires to the appropriate poles.

tape the batts together and you have a batt pac.

    simple.

    6 batts = 7.2 volts

I'm not sure I can fit 6 AA batteries in my hilt.

Oh, and don't you think "Merkury" has got to be the worst name they could have come up with for a brand of batteries?

The name has nothing to do with it but yeah it is kinda funny.

You can also go Li Ion and just use 2 cells to get what you want, check them out here:
