New pics of the shroud - first with the bayonette-like attachments (which kinda ended up sort of looking like toothpicks)... but I think it still works.

    Anyway, here we go:

unpainted and hot glued on (these were originally the wall of a PVC pipe that got Dremeled down)

painted and mounted (taken with my new Nikon D60!!! ;D):

    underside:

    with the handle grip on

Thanks for all the comments guys!

If there was a commandent of: Thou shalt not covet another man's lightsaber...I'd be going straight to Hades.

NICE saber, man. What was the total cost of all the parts?

Awesome Saber. Where did you get the rotary switch? I can't find the link anymore.

    http://www.allelectronics.com/make-a...WITCH/-/1.html

    Total cost... let's see...

rainbow vacuum tube off of eBay: $14
    TCSS 1.25" sink tube/LED blade holder: $20.49
TCSS MHS 1.5" sink tube adapter: $8.50
TCSS MHS LED Blade holder Style 6: $34.99
RGB Rebel mounted on Star from LED-TECH.de: $29.15
    8 position rotary switch: $1
    Momentary tactile pushbutton switch $1
    Vibration / tilt switch $1
Hasbro Clone Wars Ultimate Lightsaber $33
    700 mA Buckpuck $15
    4AAA Battery holder $1
    Radio shack speaker $1
    Handle wrap $3

So... total is around $163 + labor, soldering, painting, etc...

But it came out pretty nice

Looks awsome! Though I would paint the "rings" on the pommel black to match the rest of the saber.

Sorry for kicking up an old thread, but I had a quick question.

In another thread, some one mentioned that they had to modify the 1.25 Blade holder to fit the rainbow tube. But I don’t believe the tube they used had the suction release clip. Did you also need to make modifications to the blade holder and adapter, or did they slide right in? I’m thinking about picking up a set of the rainbow tubes for a set of curved sabers, so any info you could give me would be GREATLY appreciated.

    Thanks!

Oh yes, that was a major PITA.
I had to extensively grind down the outside diameter of the bladeholder adapter. Just thinking about it now gives me flashbacks of horror.

    <shivers at the thought>...

If you have a lathe, it would probably be worlds easier, but all I had was my trusty dremel tool. I think I even managed to sand away a portion of my thumb skin if I remember correctly...

You've come a ways since that saber, cannibal.

Shoot… I was hopping that the slightly different styling meant a different ID. Unfortunately, I don’t have a lathe. And though you do make it sound a truly joyous venture, *L* I think I will look for another option besides trying to grind the parts to fit with my dremel. Though looking at your finished saber, I must admit it looks more than worth all the effort. Hmmm…back to the Curved saber drawing board. If only Hasbro could have done a slightly better job on the New Dooku FX...

    Thanks For The Information!
