Thread: Stormtrooper/Kamino-ish saber progress thread

    Default 'Forcetrooper' Saber

Seeing the pics of the assembled pieces reminded me of the pic below.

Has anyone ever built a Force-sensitive Trooper saber out of MHS compnents?

I always thought it was a cool looking saber.

Can anyone here take credit for creating it?

Aquaprime - The force sensitive stormtrooper/clone concept saber was a major influence.

I've not had a chance to do much with it yet - I painted in the 2 black bands at the pommel end and the pomel insert with matt black enamel, which is more satin than really matt to my eye.

As for blade colour - I've got a 5W Prolight amber LED I want to try out, so (cardcollector ) it will be amber - for now, at least.

As for a name - that can happen when it's finished...

those things would look so kick but with a white blade. Lets go crazy and imagine a 15 watt white for LEDengin. lol

I've been working on this today, so wanted to share my progress...

BTW - Sithlordfaust - I like your saber, especially the finsh and details on the overlay - how did you get the white finish? And are the details hand painted or etched or what? Cool and unusual anyway - if you have a link to a thread on it, i'd love to see and read more.

DJ - I think white blade as well would be overkill for me, with the white body, but it might look cool - or did you mean with the trooper concept saber?

Anyway, since I posted before, I was thinking about doing some weathering and, on reflection, I thought it would also complement an amber blade, whereas I imagine the "clean" look would be better with blue or cyan or purple.

I haven't put together the electronics yet, it's still a static hilt at the mo. It was going to have a US 2.1, but I'm getting to like it more and I have a CF 2 point something in a Qui Gon hilt, so I might have to replaced that with the US 2.1 and treat this one to some CF goodness

Awesome job, I love the weathering on it! Does it light up yet?

Not yet, but soon. I'm happy with how the weathering looks, so I'm keen to get it finished now.

The weathering really make the saber look complete. Good job!
