It should be noticable on pure white. Filtered... depends. A heavy filter really takes a lot out of any LED.

And here's another important one: How fresh are your batteries?

Question? Why is it that optics are always brought up when they are not mentioned? I mean they do come with the kit so I dont see how one could leave them out. Installing them wrong yes that has happened but never once have I heard of someone not using optics.

Even without the filters, they look the same to me...but i'm not really all that concerned with brightness anyway, so maye it's just me.

Optics, yes and they are installed right. Not sure if it is 10 or 5 degrees though. Brand new batteries regular AAA duracel batteries.

With out filters, when I compare it to the other LEDs I have installed (this is now my 6th saber) it is noticably dimmer.

I decided to order another P4 (and 2 "green as possible" and "blue as possible" cyans) I figure I will probably use them eventually right. Maybe a navy blue as well then I will have all the colored LEDs.

(oh my wifes not going to be happy about this, better order them to work)

May just be one of those random unlucky dip ones that happen now and again..
