clone armor

i want to make (or build) some clone armor, but i dont know where to look for instructions.... does anyone have any good ideas where i can begin?

p.s. later i want to use this armor to join the 501st.

not to steal any of your thunder, but in addition to the armor, does anyone know where i can find some instructions to make the clone weapons? im looking for the pistols Capt Rex uses in particular

Scratchbuilding a 501st approvable costume by yourself is *incredibly* difficult. If you want the armor to be 501st approved, you're better off getting a recognized kit.

Perhaps the best, most accurate and most recognized Clone Trooper (2nd phase..."ROTS version") kit available is made by OSCS, "One Stop Clone Shop" based out of Southern California. I believe over half of the SoCal garrison who troop in 2nd phase suits use OSCS, so that's always a good sign. For more info, Google is your friend I won't post the website out of respect for Tim.


There are others, too, but you pay for what you get. Remember, quality only hurts once!




**EDIT** Also, whatever you do, DO NOT BUY FROM STAR FORTRESS ON EBAY!!! They are known recasters and scammers. Don't let the low price fool you. Quality is horrible and they are recasting other people's work, like OSCS, SkyGunBro, Atin, and other true sculptors.

Go to Clone Empire and Clonetroopers.net forums and read up on as much as you can in the threads for a few weeks to gather information about what to get, what to not get, who to contact to get stuff and how to build it. The major makers of clone armor and accessories are active members on those forums.

If you want to build the blaster yourself, look to the Blaster Builder's Club for blueprints and templates. The long clone rifle is the DC-15. The short rifle/carbine is the DC-15s.
