Thread: switch question

  1. #1

    Default switch question

im using a hasbro anakin ROTS sound board in a luxV saber. im using a 5V regulator to keep the sound board from getting toasted,so i cant have the led run through the sound board or it wouldnt get enough juice.
If i want to be able to turn the sound effects and the led on at the same time via 1 switch or button.
How can wire both the sound board and the led into one switch and what kind of switch would work best for this?
    any help would be great.....

Is the sound board an FX Hasbro or cheapy?

If it is an FX Hasbro, a DPST switch is what you are looking for.

yeah I suppose clarifying if its an FX or a Hasbro would be key.

1 question, why LuxV? If you must use it, then you need a DPDT switch and a 700mA buckpuck to drive the LED.

the sound board is out of a Hasbro Anakin FX ROTS saber, year on the hilt says 2007, and i am using a 700mA buckpuck. I'm running the saber on 7.2V via duel trustfires from TCSS. The 7.2V lights up the led great but i knew i couldn't put that kind of voltage into the sound board,
(most folks say not to put more than 5-6V into one if you want it to last)
so I used a 5V regulator which again works great. My problem is that i have 2 switches. 1-turns the led on and the other is the stock on/off switch attached to the sound board. hope this info helps. So my question is:
can i wire them into one on/off switch?

DPST is Double Throw Single Post, so I might be wrong.

DPDT is what you wrote as a discription.

No, you're wrong too. DPST it Double Pole, Single Throw.

We know what xl meant, I think we do. But the P is not for Pull it's Pole.
