the base cap is off, thats the 700mA buck puck hanging out the end. I hade to use a led flashlight for the shot (phone camera) otherise the red fills the screen.
the leatherwork is what i've been working on, i'm doing a few different patterns to get the look I want.

As this is my first custom saber, I decided to go with a simple design (and by simple, I mean within my budget); I want to add some sort of grip in time, but for now, I'm pleased with it. It has a cheapy Hasbro sound board in it, so that complicated things for me. This was my first time soldering, but I think I got a pretty good feel for it! I'm going to tap some screw holes along the bottom for sound to escape/my clip thing/appearance, and, of course, for the retention screw in the blade holder.
