So, has anyone made a tutorial for the Tim's Hasbro Obi-Wan conversion kit, or are we supposed to wing it?

There's always a bigger fish.
I'm pretty sure it's the same, except that you don't need to unscrew the emitter to take it apart.
Thanks, Obi-Dar Ke-Gnomie. Today I started the conversion. Everything went beautifully. It was turning out to be the easiest conversion I ever did. (I would note, though, that there is not need to remove the inner metal sheath of the hilt. Once you remove the switchbox, de-solder the wires, and stuff them into the switch hole, the entire hilt will slide easily off the blade, leaving an incredibly simply plastic unit to deal with.)
So I'm cheerfully putting everything back together, when I notice I can't get the insides quite far enough into the hilt. I'm trying to line up the switch holes, but they are short just 2 or 3 millimeters. I think, "I must not have cut the plastic case down far enough," then I look into the emitter end, and notice that the aluminum conversion kit is just 2 or 3 millimeters from inside end of the hilt. I figure it's just a tight squeeze, and try to force in father. Nothing. I try hammering it in. Nothing. It's far enough in so that I can put the pommel on and there's no noticeable gap, so I could just drill the the plastic case a bit to allow the switch box to be reinserted, but I'm planning on selling this and want it to be as close to perfect as possible. Has anyone else tried this conversion and had a similar problem? I'm attaching a couple of photos to show what I mean when I say it's just a little bit short of where it should be. Thanks in advance for any help.

Meh. I just took the easy route and shaved a couple of millimeters off the top of the plastic case. Since there doesn't seem to be a tutorial for the Hasbro Obi-Wan conversion using Tim's kit, I'll try to put one together.
