I think there's also the 10% difference rule, but yes if I make no money I'm safe, I mean the thing was sold as a costume mask, I didn't make it.

right seeing as most costuming groups try to get as close as possible to the character they are dressing as, I really don't think copyright law comes into play at all in this scenario.

as long as you have a backstory for your character feel free to submit. Just need some good shots of your saber too.

I have lots of that, bit as it comes in at several pages long, should I just submit the clifts notes or give a link to the full thing?
