Thread: Qui-Gon costume

    Default Qui-Gon costume

I made the tunics (inner and outer), obi, tabers, poncho, and pouches myself. The belt (two, actually--one Anakin, one Obi-Wan) and capsules I got from costumebase on eBay. The boots are generic Jedi boots from cabootstoo.com, which I modified to look like Qui-Gon's. And the saber, of course, was custom made for me by DoClo.

You can see the rest of the pictures here.

    That looks nice! Good job!
However, if a complete replica costume was what you were going for, then you should know that the color of Qui-Gon's tunic/obi/tabards is more yellow. If you have used a natural fabric, then you could easily dye it, though.

Thanks, Darth Lars. I don't know if it's my ten-year-old digital camera or your monitor, but the actual material looks pretty damned close to the reference materials I have: a grayish beige (or beige-ish gray, depending on your point of view). Either way, I had a hard enough time getting the original fabric (off-white) to this color: the first time it came out pink! (I was able to fix it by re-dyeing it using green.)
