    Default LED coler question

    hello can anybody help me find a purple lux 3 led, i need to find one for my new saber i am working on, thanx for the help all of you, and you were right it is more fun and more rewording building my own saber thanx and many blessings to all of you. May the force be with you.

    also i was just wondering, seeing as how i have never worked with any kind of electronics never soldered any thing, how do i know which point on the led is the positive and which is the negitive? thanx in advance for all of the help[]

    There is no purple luxeon. That's why we need filters. The LED will have +'s and -'s on them.

    Sorry guy the Luxeon does not come in purple, you will have to use white with a filter to make a purple saber. The led has the solder pads maked positve and negative so it is easy to tell them apart.
    The other option for a purple blade is to use uV leds to get a purple color, check the thread index and look for purple led I posted some pictures and diagrams there to make a purple blade.

    ok so then how do i get the blade to look purple? should i get a white lux 3 and use the color disc or should i look for something else?

    That is your only option, a white led and a filter (discs, those index tabs, etc...).

    The color disc will work for purple

    I completely forgot you could use Do-clo's UV setup, but that might be much since you said you've never soldered.

    ok thanx guys now i know all i seem to need to know. i think i will go with the white lux and color discs untill i get used to the soldering, then i will try to do it with the uv leds, i just hope that i do not hurt myself doing all of this lol as i've read that most of you have. i am preety sure i will to but i will hope for the best.
