Thread: DARTH MAUL FX !

  1. #1

    Default DARTH MAUL FX !

    Just got my DM FX!

Very sturdy feeling, maybe a more "finished" feel. Very clean. The blade doesnt seem too feel loose in the hilt. The red and silver buttons are aluminum, 2 Rubber o rings.

    More observations and my plans!

A red LUX is going into this sucker one day soon.

Three of the buttons look like they are glued on and pushed in the hilt. They should pull right off. The on off button has a set pin. The emitter has 2 set pins. My guess is the emitter will screw off once the pins are removed. I hope its one pin that will push through. The small pin in the on/off button is small and might be hard to remove.

The two LEDs are clear. They should be no problem to remove and replace with working ones.

The battery holder is about the same as the other FX sabers

The endcap is cool looking. Very light feeling. The Red crystal is held in place by 3 screws. Plenty of space in the cap for an led to light the crystal up. I'm going to also "weather" the outside of it.
Give it a lightsaber cut look.

I'm thinking one could make a Bastardized Maul (with a little work).

If you got one, post your thoughts.

My wife has our camera so I can't take pictures now but I will when she gets home around 5:30 or so.

I am curious about the base connection for putting two of them together. Snap a good image of that area.[8D]

Ok guys I have great news!

1.The main pin is one pin. It pushes right out from one side to the other.
    2.Next unscrew the belt clip.
3.Unscew the top silver button. It is used to hold the plastic inside.
4.On the on/off push in the pin onthe side of the button. The button will pop off.
    5. Push all of the guts out of the end.
    6. Push out all of the pins holding the blade.
    7. The wires match up just like the Vader. They are no different!

This thing comes apart nice. Im doing a mock up LED now. Pictures soon!

Hold tight,I'm going to get the camera now.

lol, not a day and getting converted already.

A big question has been the sound, is it the same ones as the Vader?

Also how about some size impressions now that it's AAA?

I wonder what the threading is on the end cap.
My dual saber says it is in processing..hopefully it ships soon.

Yeah, I have nothing to do this week, I'm on bereavement from work.
It sounds the same to me.
    3 AAA

    End cap

The threads are MUCH a smaller diameter compared to the other FX sabers.

Not from what I hear... Did you order two singles or the "double" package? The singles are supposed to ship now and doubles in April.

It looks like it will use the standard three cell, so the threading would put the battery pack in place.

How does the base connect to second DM saber?
    [edit]
Focus! focus!! [] switch to the Macro setting on the
camera for some of those close ups, turn on the little flower symbol.[]
