Default Is there any way to fuse the defuser and blade?

So I was thinking, (I know, I already took the smoke detectors down) is there a way to fuse the defuser to the blade? That way it all looks like one piece.

Here are some pics to show what I’m talking about.
    Before:

    After:

These were done with water, and while it shows what I want to do, water has obvious problems.

I was thinking about heat, but that would probably deform the PolyC. And glue would make a BIG mess and have bubbles all over it.

    Any other ideas?

Heat would mess with the integrity of the PolyC.

Obviously what would rock is a matte PolyC. But there's no way to do that after the tube is made...[]

Doesn't that leave a rough texture? I don’t know what side you blast…

This way it would be totally smooth, and it would look a lot like a florescent light bulb.

You bead blast the inside of the tube. Or you could take the spray they use to frost glass and spray it into the inside of your blade, would be difficult ot get even.

How coarse is the medium you use to blast?

I skimmed through the post about this but I was wondering how coarse the glass beads were. Any time I used a sandblaster it was just that, Sand. (Or Black Beauty.)

I was thinking that it should be a course medium used for this so that the pits can grab more light. And it may also help create a shimmering, or sparkling effect.

I sanded the tip of the excess PolyC with the Dremmel using an 80grit drum and it seems to reflect the light very well, but it’s uneven and I can’t get the tool more than 3” into the tube. So I figured if I use something as course as Black Beauty (carefully, that stuff could rip through the PolyC in seconds) it would reflect more light.

What are your thoughts? If I had still had access to the stuff I’d test it, but I don’t work at the bodyshop any more...

I have the same problem no access to a media blaster, I would think baking soda would be a good choice you would just want to frost the the inside of the tube. Corbin's blade film really does a nice job.

That's like chucking feathers at it, I want to use rocks! lol

I want to get aggressive with it, I want it to beg for mercy! Seriously though, I think coarse may be the way to go… If I can get my hands on some I’ll try it. But I think a special long nozzle would be a huge help.

Cool thing about baking soda... You can strip paint off with it and leave all the body filler... Useless info, I know.

    Edit:
Oh yeah, I was also thinking that, using this method, the light should be directed into the PolyC, not down the center.

If you can remove the shine from the inside of the tube then you will get a nice effect, I would think you would want a uniformer frosting to prevent any bright spots in the blade. Let me know if you try and post pics.
