    Yes, they do!

I remeber seeing a post by someone here before that showed how they modified that holder to allow the batteries to fit into a ribbed extension by cutting out some of the center divider, but i don't remember who it was.

Any good at modifying cr123 holders? I made a pack so the 2 cr123 lithium-ion batteries were one right on top of the other. I had to get creative because the recharge port wouldn't work...for whatever reason. I made the holder so I could take the batteries out and them put them into the wall charger for..well charging. I got rhe 3.0V batteries so that makes 6 volts total plus I have read that they can actually store a bit more so we're talking between 6 - 6.4V total..If your not using a buckpuck or the proper resistor...watch out for the magic smoke.

    Thumbs down Warning!

Be careful when modifying the led kit battery holders and trying to shove it in a ribbed section! I ruined a sound board and melted a battery holder by "removing" some material. Worked fine out side of saber for the 2 minutes i tried it. Once inside worked for a like 30 seconds then shut down. Upon re-ignition some burnt pcb smell and melted holder. Beware. My electronics savvyness isn't all that high so I have no idea what caused that. I just wont take out that much material again.

If even a little metal from the springs (or spring bases) of a battery pack touch the insides of the aluminum body of a hilt--it can all be over in seconds.

And people wonder why I'm such a stickler for Li-Ion cells over Alkalines. Protection from short circuits, over-heating, higher voltage per cell, better energy density, safer for the environment. *sigh*

But anyhow... yes--isolate ALL metal connections, you must. Or fry your saber like Greedo, you might.

Ah, so this is what happened when I had a smoking battery pack, I quickly yanked it out, snipped the wires and tossed it with the batteries in it.

I thought I had a loose wire or a soldered connection's heatshrink came off and touched something. Thankfully, this was just a resistored saber and didn't have a soundboard. I will now line the insides of my MHS sabers with electrical tape or something.

The last post is a picture of how I did it:
