Thread: Question about blade holder

    Default Question about blade holder

    Ok, I bought this.

    http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/sa...p?idproduct=88

I want to put it in a 1.5 sink tube I have cut. However I see no way for the led holder to mount to the blade holder. I hope I didn't buy the wrong piece.

    Any suggestions?

You only need one additional part,(MHS to 1.5" sink tube adapter)
This will thread onto the blade holder and secure the led holder in place and it will slide into your sink tube. You will find the adapter in the mhs hilt section.

If you want it to go inside the tube you need to ask Tim to do that too. Otherwise the adapter goes inside and the holder rests on top.

i know its a bit ghetto, but you couldnt you just duct tape it together. i dont REALLY see a need for that connection to be very strong.

Between the tube and blade holder?[:0] That's one of the most important connections. Without being milled to the size of the tube it'd just sit with threads inside the tube. Not to mention the adapter is needed for the heatsink/LED holder to stay in place and it would look like crap. BAD IDEA overall!

duct-tape fixes a lot but not lacking an adapter.[]

no, no , no, not the whole holder to the sink tube. tape the piece that holds the led itself to the piece that holds the blade. isnt that what he was talking about, or did i misunderstand what he was asking?

i was assuming that he had it milled to fit inside the sink tube

Okay I see what you meant. Well, I guess that'd work but if you wanted to duel I doubt the power of duct-tape would keep the optics and heatsink in place. Unintended clash effect.[][]

He just needs to tell Tim to mill it for the tube and get the adapter. He doesn't need to use the holes on the adapter really but for the LED and optics to be rock solid, the adapter is needed.

right on, i do see the usefullness of the adapter in making the saber bulletproof. and he should get it if he plans on some heavy use, but he could just tape it.

I thought you could mount the LED holder to the Blade holder with screws?

mine dosent have any screws to mount the halves together. it has them on the vader conversion kits, and i think the old style as seen in the tutorial did have them.
