Wouldn’t keeping the LED’s closer to each other on the chain eliminate that?

That and using a diffuser like MR?

When the dark spots is obvious, let the LED’s closer to each other, that will be better.

I think he said he gets them directly from the factory - which I take to mean: he literally goes to [visits] the factory to get them.

Since this Makototsai thread gets the most traffic, I registered @ kingbright.com. I recieved an email regarding free samples. With my life being kind of hectic right now, I don't have anytime to test this so... I'd like to pass this tidbit of intel out to those who could make better use of it.
