Default Warning!!! Time off = Construction!!!!

So folks, i've been away for afew weeks visiting family & becoming an uncle. Whilst waiting for my sis to drop, I got busy & cobbled together some sabers.

As many may know, I wanted to make one for my 5yr old niece, so the idea of the Hello kitty saber was born, but due to battery/tubing issues, I had to change my plan for it (for the better in my opinion)

    Here's the original style:

And the New one ( all the crap in my workshop at my folks place) I'm going to get it powdercoated white & cover it in Hello kitty stickers for her:

A test shot for the blade (you can see the issue I had with the batteries clearly in this):

The HK saber mk2 with my Darth Vetous (red) & a graflex based on for my Dad:

And now the one I just finished today (maybe powder coat the central tubing a brass colour later) based on the Starkiller/ graflex from force unleashed, with a bit of the classic Mara Jade thrown in there for good measure.

What do we think folks? Spent my time away well?

I had 20 tubes cutwith the graflex 's' curve. Not cheap, but always good for a base for a saber, allows so much room for customisation.

Pink is fine for a saber, it's Hello Kitty that's wrong!

She's 5, so pink is fine. Though she did love the Amber one.

Devil, used 31mm dia, 2mm walled tube for centre piece and pommel, shroud & main piece are 35mm, 2mm walled which is ideal diameter for me.

Blade is in with a standard sinktube blade holder from the store cut short.

I got the grooves in the 31mm piece by running my pipe cutter around lightly afew times. I didn't put any tape around it to stop the cutter scoring as I wanted it to look bashed and well used.

The brass piece is just a scrap piece.

What I didn't do is take a pic of the belt loop. It's a standard D-ring, but it's screwed in along the same line as the other screws keeping the main grip piece attached to the 31mm piece.
I figured i'd stick it there as it's easy for me to draw from the right hip as a lefty, or for a righty to detach in a reverse grip.
