I kept wondering about your progress on this. It does look great. If you progressed no further it would be an awesome hilt. I see you're using a different brass knob setup than what you originally crafted.

Yeah, I found the proper valve adapters at a bike shop. I think these look a whole lot better.

Regarding the extra grooves, I thought I'd disguise my Dremel slip by making it look intentional, and doing it all around. I still need to do another groove further down to match the original.

I decided to have the emitter ring made. I wasn't going to spend the money, but it wouldn't look right without it. I should have it in a few weeks.

My Dremel-fu was strong last night. I got the grooves cut out of the grip piece, and they look OK. I'll post pictures once I get it sanded and painted.

I've been watching this thread with GREAT interest. Once I see your pictures, I may build up the courage to try one myself... When will yours be sanded and painted???
