What tools will I need to make my hilt?
There are many tools. This topic is applicable to EL and LED for any hilt:

Vadeblade made a nice list there, but it depends on the hilt and there is no definative list really because we don't know what you'll be building.

My brother got crap in his eye yesterday, during lunch!

You get that Dremmel shrapnel in your eye, and you'll be feeling for the phone to call 911.[B)]

Thanks X-Wing... I figured there was no "definative list" as different saber designs will need different tools... however, I guess I am looking for something like Vadeblade posted.

Assume I have nothing.. what would I need for a simple EL Saber. Hope that helps. The ongoing tutorial about the Graflex is helping a lot because I can see how the tools are being used.

"Do you know how to use one of these?"
"Yes. The pointy end goes into the other man."

Here is a list of tools that I have and it works for me.

Dremel & assorted disks and sanding drums
    Solder iron & solder
Pair of side cutters (wire cutters)
    Screw drivers
    Allen wrenhes
    Pliers
    Drill & drill bits
    Taps & Tap handle
    Small file & sandpaper

Tim now stocks most of these tools and his prices are good so just add them on to your order. You can add tools as you go but this should get you set up with the basics.

Very cool Tim, you might want to list a basic tool kit.

Hey guys don't forget: When all else fails use the BFH-9000[]

No tool kit is complete without it[]

awsome call on the pipe cutter Tim.

That's the truth! Although polycarbonate face shields are really the best. Safety glasses only shield your eyes. Granted, that's the most important thing, but high-speed dremel shrapnel will probably hurt a bit if you catch it in the chin.
