Default Hehe.... breaking the 1K lumen barrier

I was responding to a post in Saber sound and did some math....

Since the LEDEngin LED is physically the same as any star, it could be mounted in a Tri-Lux setup. At 530 lumens per LED, you'd get 1590 lumens for green. Owwwie! How to dissipate 52.8 watts of heat, though? LOL.

Any color (Or combo of colors) could be used the same way.

Anyway, figured I'd post it in the new tech forum for folks to chew on.....

i think yous have to ask acerocket if he could even set up the ledENGIN in a tri lux setup.

Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side, kid.

Ace is busy at the moment and it would be easyer to mount rebels in a try lux configuration.

Anyone could make a "tri-lux". Ace just machined a really nice setup for it that mounted a three with the optics very secure.

Also, just because it has a power of 50W doesn't mean it's making 50W of heat... it certainly would be hot but that number doesn't equal the heat it produces.

Ace's Tri-Lux set-up also used emitters, not stars.

Ahhh.. I didn't know it was using the emmitters and not the whole star. I thought he was using 3 stars and optics on it.

I'll have to go back and look at his setup.... now all the sudden I don't get how the optics were done, LOL.

Whatever happened with that Ace? I remember following the thread and updates closely, and I know you moved, but... did you eventually abandon the project?
