    Default My

I was at the SaberBuilder, working on my Saber design. And I want to know what all I've got right, and what I'm missing in my Lightsaber.

    Blade Holder Style 5- 44.95$
    Hilt Style 3- 30$
    4" Female Extension- 13.99$
    Male Connector- 8.95$
    14 O-Rings- 5.46$
    Pommel 6- 6$
    Guarded Switch (red)- 8$
    Lux III Kit- 18.21

    135.56$

With my Monthy Allowance...I should be able to afford it by...
*counts in head* January. If my Mom doesn't cheap out on Christmas again. XD

And I know the design is pretty basic, but for my first two sabers, I want to them pretty Uniform. I want to put them on a custom-made Gauntlet.
I'll work on a new Saber too, but I'll keep that one till I know what I'm doing. XD

I'm still deciding on the Blade. I probobly will use a Battle Blade (If they are strong enough for me and my buddies to screw aroudn with).

This is for an LED, I just want to know what other parts I am in need of.

    Edit:

I'll add up the figures later.
I'm in the middle of some schoolwork.
But as for blade design, which of the two new ones would look best? I plan on trying to make an Orange Blade anyway.
I will take the Choker Devil Guy had in mind into account. The Blade Site is down at the moment, but whenever it's up I'll work on fixing up the Design for the first blade.
Thank's for all the help, by the way. High School is a bit complex, but I think I can weasel a Saber Making Day in here somewhere. XD

Do you already have the LED, Battery holder/Pack?

Don't forget the blade retention screw.

Also do you want the Covertec clip?

Actually no, I don't have any parts at the moment. I've been sort of saving up Cash.
But are those parts I need? Like wiring? Cuz I'm clueless there.
Blues_Light told me Saber Building was mildly difficult, but not entirely horrible.

I would suggest adding to your list the Lux III Kit; from the store, and see what price that does for you.

For wiring all you need is some wire, knowledge in using a soldering iron, or someone who does. The Battery holder with the Lux III kit, with the switch and the LED are all you need, to make it light up.

For the original question about the blade, Novastar can tell you how blades hold up to a beating. You will need one, that is a little bit of cost too...

The blade retention screw is necessary to hold in the blade when dueling. The clip you need if you are going to wear it on your belt.

Okie Dokie, adding the Lux III.
But I don't know a thing about wiring. I have a mechanically adept friend, and a neighbor or two who might be able to help there. But just in case, can you give me a link or is there is a guide for it on this awsome forum?
And with a White LED, you can add those colored rings to change the saber color, right?

If you go to the Lux III LED kits in the store, one of the options is the white Seoul P4. This is your best white LED option. There is a set of color disks in the store as well.

You can get a good yellow or amber that way. You can get an OK pale blue, and a good pink. Red, green, and a deep blue aren't worth trying to get with filters. It's better to get the LED in those colors if you want them.

Here are some pictures I took a while back with my Seoul P4 and different filters. I'm currently running with one yellow filter in my brass saber, and I love the color.

Here's a link to a very good soldering tutorial by Erv.

I recommend that you get some scrap wire and stuff, and practice a lot. It helps to invest in a good soldering iron too.

    Obi-Dar, thanks a lot.
The Yellow + Amber looks like a great Color. Worthy for the Saber of Fenrir.
And I'll look into that Soldering video.
And If anyone has/is going to make a Gauntlet, I would like some advice on how to make it.

Could anyone give me a comparison of different blades?

If you get the guarded switch, you will have to add another $10 to have the switch hole drilled, because it won't fit in the regular switch hole.

"This switch will NOT fit the normal MHS switch hole.
You can have a switch hole made for this by purchasing the machine switch hole service listed under services.
These have the nut on the inside so they can be a bit tricky to install."

Look around in the LED Blade forum for information on blade comparisons.
In order to see the Light,
you must sometimes risk the Dark.
