Thread: Hilt electronics

    Default Hilt electronics

Will the electronics in my hilt (battery holder, or switch for example) need some kind of cushioning? I don't want this great big rattling sound when I swing my saber after all.

The more form-fitting your components... the better. It also is usually important that the batteries (at the very least) are accessible when you slide your components out of the hilt. In some cases (such as with Crystal Focus)--you want access to a volume POT and the SD card...

But to be honest... this question/answer is pretty obvious. You can answer this question on your own without the help of the threads.

I use "Cool Foam" sheets inside my sabers to provide padding to keep battery holders, electronics, etc. from rattling around:

It's electrically insulated, easy to cut to size, bendable, and CHEAP!

I fill my sabers with liquid to insulate them from bumps and jarring that might damage the frail components within.

plus after dueling in the hot sun, you can take a drink of your saber liquid.

    ahhh, refreshing!
