Question Question about the saber blade

    Hi people =D
okay I'm new here and I love the website (lol, who cares?)

    but i was wondering something:

Al right...just take a look at the red circle...its from a master replicas saber, right?
But, are there 2 tubes? I mean look at that! there is a transparent tube outside and, inside, another, but a white one....
MR sabers are made of leds..so the one inside is not a EL lamp...
If anyone knows this "secret" plz share with me? =D

Ahh, and just another question..sry O.O
How am i supposed to add the balde into the saber and, still make the blade steady for it doesnt fly when i do my first lightsaber swing?

    Thanks a lot

I haven't taken mine apart yet, but I don't believe they are two separate pieces. The white part is if I'm not mistaken, just a film diffuser on the inside.

As far as your second question, the MR blades are screwed in place and most custom sabers with the tougher poly blades are held in place with a thumbscrew that just holds it in place by scrunching the tube against the blade holder.

Yes, MR blades have a few layers. It's clear PolyC on the outside. Then there is a milky white plastic diffuser. Last is a foam sleeve for the LED strip.

Sabers use thumbscrews... I believe that's a FAQ question. Go read it!

I know...i rly tried to look at the faq...but there's a link there which is broken and i cant access the rest of the information about the blade =/

    Thtas why im asking here...

about the thumbscrew....thnaks a lot =) ill try as soon as i discover this "2-tubes-but-not-2-tubes" secret oO

    edit:
By the way...brazil sucks...and we dont have a poly tube around here and i would need to go to the dephts of hell to find one >.<
    So ill use acrylic tube...
    no problem, yeah?

Big problem if you want to be able to duel with it...I believe the coined term is

Acrylic for show not for go!

You can order PolyC from the store attached to this website, I'm pretty sure Tim could ship it to Brazil for you

but the big problem is money...i mean
polyc tubes there might be cheap...but here..well, the dollar coasts R$1,60,
Its not expensive...but brazil LOVES taxes! Thats the big trouble, you know =/

But i think if i work a little i can get one
    thanks =)

And, about the MR blade over there...do u have any idea how they've done that?

It's a thin polyc tube with a white diffuser tube inside, its not the best way to diffuse light in polyC. Look into Corbin's film and gift wrap cellophane also known as polyP....way better!
