    What's the verdict?
    I'm thinking of overdriving a lux 3 cyan @ 2000mA unless some egghead talks me out of it....aren't most products tested at 2-1/2 x their capacity?

    Umm... I wouldn't advise on that. It may survive for a bit, but heat will be killer at that level. Not that a whole hilt isn't enough. At that point it won't be able to make it disipate fast enough, then POOF!

    You can try it but I'd have two LEDs ready. One that may go poof and the other as backup obviously after toning it down.

    [QUOTE=tinfoilhelmet;96736]What's the verdict?

    not used it yet but the size of it looks good , it will lay on top of the MRFX soundboard no probs.(while i wait for my m8 to decide on his hilt design for the red lux3) i have some testing to do and some deciding whether to overdrive my green lux3 or green soul p4 with it or my green k2 as on standard 1000ma buckpuck and 4.8v nimh there doesnt seem to be much diff in brightness . but then writing this now i realise i have 3 LED's so what does it matter if i blow the p4 or lux3 up , the k2 is rated for 1400ma anyway so that should at least be ok and brighter.

    (for the record i was a bit dubious about posting the link for the 1400ma driver on a site that sells an effective solution already, appologies to TCSS
    if any offence has been caused)

    that link was helpful to mee because i dont want to have to wire two buckpucks together. One board that is designed for the task of supplying 1400mA or 2 amps seems more practical. I still buy parts here anyhow.
