Thread: My Saber

    Default My Saber

This is my first saber and I am pretty proud of it
I machined the whole thing myself out of solid aluminum it took give or take 20 hours on the lathe the only thing I didn’t do myself were the threads on the base that was custom cut on a CNC machine I know its pretty basic but I’m extremely happy with it

    WoW!!!

Great job dude! Great 1st post, great 1st saber!!!!

A fair few people on here like simple sabers! Too flash detracts from the workmanship that's really gone into it!

    Oh, BTW, Welcome!!

Being so great, the owner of these wonderful forums and attached shop has filmed how to build an MHS hilt, here's the link:

    beautiful hilt..

    love the clean/minimal look..

looks alittle small..whats the over all length? (I like 12in hilts myself..so maybe Im biased a little)

how long you been working on a lathe? First project? good job either way.

    Thanks for the welcome

The hilt is about 10 1/4'' I was originally going for a 12 inch hilt but when I was cutting it out it just looked awkward so I cut it down

No it’s not my first time on a lathe but this is my first project in a long time so I might as well be the first time

Looks great man, really awesome job, I really like the switch in the choke section. How's the weight and balance with the solid pommel? Being it's shorter I was thinking it might be pretty decent, just curious as i'm doing two short sabers now and just wondering if it balances out or gives it a back heavy feel.

It’s actually not that bad it balances out and it’s not as back heavy as you would expect
