the plastic piece in mine is a 1 inch OD, 1/4 inch ID nylon spacer

I glue the aluminum rod in place, then use a rubber tip to protect the lens

Here's the plug by itself. Disregard the tape, tis' just there to keep it from rollin around when I took the picture.
