intriguing.. certainly cheaper than 2 700ma buckpucks in parallel, and the dimensions could come in handy. Gotta be careful on input voltage though!
Looks like the market is leaning that way. We may see actual 1400 pucks one day. I found these on Deal Extreme. Tim should carry them and sell them individually so I don't have to buy 20 from China

Atomic.. those drivers you linked dont work very well at all. Unless they have come out with a better design they only take very low voltage ie..3.7 or less and overheat very easily.
Malaki.. the link you provided is a linear regulator, not a switcher, any extra input voltage will just be burnt as heat so they are not better than buckpucks from what I understand anyways. You would need to buy the one with a heatsink which would be $24 so its not much cheaper also.
