Default Can you mix and match buckpucks?

OK, so a couple weeks ago we established that (2) 700 mA buckpucks wired parallel will give you 1400 mA.

My question is can you mix a 700 mA and a 1000 mA to get 1700 mA ?

I suspect this would in no way work like one might hope, but do not have the math to back that up

My suspicion is you would get a sort of averaging effect and not the increase desired.

I would hesitate on that... matched makes sense.

On 1000mA the voltage it's sending is different compared to what it would send at 700mA.

I guess the only way to tell is to try if a rep said matched wouldn't work. *rolls eyes* What would you want to give 1700mA though? There isn't a huge difference compared to the drain you're starting to put on the battery.

I was thinking about slightly overdriving k2's rather than the 1400 mA that we know works with 2 pucks, and I think using (2) 1000 mA may be pushing it too far. but maybe your right xwing, it isnt worth it compared to battery drain.

I don't remember where the thread was but Tim had a good explanation of why matching works and mismatching doesn't...
