Thread: Hasbro with a K2

    Default Hasbro with a K2

I plan to upgrade a friend’s K2 Green saber with some sound. He wants me to use a Hasbro board to do this. I plan to do this with a Corbin Board, and 7.2v recharge batteries. Will this overdrive and/or burn the Hasbro? Any ideas on how to wire this?

Yes, 7.2V will fry a Hasbro. You either need to go lower on the volts (Most hasbros will be okay on 4.8V) or "tap" the pack for the correct voltage. I'd do the first. The second is hackish... it will drain one battery faster than the other and especially on li-ions I wouldn't want to do that at all.

The newer Hasbro boards with the LED ring can handle a 4AAA/AA pack, anything more and its magic smoke time

    Just get a 4.8v pack, k2s dont need 7.2V.

I just came across a wiring diagram for this set up from Tim so I'll use that and a 4.8 battery. Thank you.
