I don't know what the answer but is a question. can the forums go to an aproval prosses before new members can post? I have seen this in other forums but don't know if it's possible with out changing everything.

I'm sure that could be added. It's up to Tim though. Sabergirl could approve them too.

I thought the scrambled image verification would take care of the spammers. That one was insane... almost threw a conniption seeing that many new posts by one person.

It's hard to find an effective way to weed these ass holes out without making it harder for Joe Schmoe to get on and buy stuff.

Maybe there should be some sort of question about forum content before you're allowed to post. Makes it very hard for SPAMers to deal with because they'd need to spend more than 30sec setting up a bogus account and would actually have to read!

If someone really wants to join and participate in the forums then I don't think they would mind a little reading or waiting to be approved.

My thing with spam is that somebody out there must be clicking on the links or these people wouldn't still be doing it. Why do something if your not getting anything in return for it right? I have stuff set up on my e-mail and I still get probably 30 spam messages a day and maybe one valid e-mail a week. It rather sucks.
