    Doesn't the Vader come with one on the shroud already? They omit the bottom one because it would interfer with the electronic and on screen it's always thoe opposite anyway.

    If you're talking about a Vader you made just look for D-rings. There's no fancy name. At mine they're above the "hard to find" section with all the pull out drawers.

    Oh the hook... I feel stupid. I thought you were asking about the d-ring itself. Yes, please share anything you find. I haven't seen any decent ones yet.

    i mentioned this to somebody on another thread about the same thing: at walmart, go to the automotive aisle and look for a "seat belt adjuster". it's a plastic clip that goes on the seat belt to hold in in place(made for women whose breasts are irritated by the belt, but they don't say that). they come in a 2-pack for under $4 and they make great belt clips to hold a saber with a D ring, i have the ones TCSS sells and they fit fine.

    i went to ace hardware and got a sheet of stainless steel. i cut out a similar shape to the hook used on vaders belt. i didnt rivet or bolt mine on. imade it like a clip. it slips down over the top edge of belt and can be moved around. its a tight fit so it dont fall off or anything like that. at the bottom where the dring hooks on i tapered it down for the dring.

    im using that heiland i made into a vader led saber with the red/orange lux 3 watt. i have a hasbro board running the lux. and the endcap is drilled with holes for sound. i know its wrong, but i used a dring bolted into the existing insert right in the middle of the endcap. i hang mine upside down. like said, ya really cant do it that way tho, with a MR FX vader.

    @LAN:

    Out of curiosity, how much did that sheet of stainless steel run you? And is it thin enough to cut with a rotary tool?

    I'm now thinking about the possibilities of creating "add-ons" for my saber out of a sheet like that, and they're practically endless!

    If you like this, just Google 'climbing hook'... You should see a bunch of different versions. Not sure of the techincal name, but they are use for rock climbing and such. I like this one the best, its called the 'chainsaw hook', or 'Cresto-Hook'.
