newbie, custom build questions.

hi.

been reading for a while now.. and again I am back playing with the idea of finishing my 'blade'.

I have some sink tubes other misc. parts..etc..etc and some other odds and ends.

I have a few questions to be clarified if anyone could be so kind.

If I have a tube (hilt). that has a 1.25 inner diameter opening (OD is 1.5) ... can it be used for anything?..

Im assuming a blade holder wouldnt be needed as I could just tap that to hold the blade tube.. maybe an extra lining in there to take up any 'slack'..

I guess my question is more about mounting the LED (light).. what is the wide/radius if the LED's? also how 'tall' (height) are they? fully built? LED/lens/scerws..etc

from reading I take it most (all) LED's need a heat sink under them?

do the poly tubes (blades)... sitting above the lens? (touching?) in final construction?


I cant seem to find anythign 1.25 sink tube related in the store... although I have seen them mentioned in several posts??

I would like to get a (maybe 2) 1.25 blade holders.. since they can hold the blades..as well hold the LED and provide a heatsink..is this correct?


I have other sink tube questions.. but I'll save and do more searching for now.
