Thread: My led saber

  1. #1

    Default My led saber

Ok, I introduce you my LED saber:

But look what happens when I attach da blade

This isn't a polyC tube, I know. The lens I'm using is a 60º one.

Is there anything else I can do to make the light go trought all the blade instead changing my blade to a polyC one?

Change your optics. 60 is way too wide. Try 5 or 10 degrees. The tube isn't really the problem at all.

I was really getting worried, check my tube:

    It's totally white.

Where can I get the lens only?

Right from Tim in the shop, but since you are international that would probably be silly. The shipping would cost way more than the part itself. I don't know where to point you other than wherever you got the LED.

Well we can tell from the pics it's a star mount just from the shape. The easiest way to tell if you have a lambertain or batwing is the LED. If it round it a lambertian and a flat top is a bat wing. The ones Tim sell fit lambertains.

Well, Based on the picture, it looks like there is no optics mounted at all. adersondasilva, you need to purchase optics to shoot the light up the blade. Five or ten degrees spotlight colminator lense, like what Tim sells.

Also, hard to tell if the Luxeon LED is Lambertian or Batwing with the LED on. Take the LED out of the hilt, and take a picture of the LED from a side view with it turned OFF (please remember to use macro on the camera)

    Thanks,

No worries vadeblade. I talked to him on MSN. He has optics and it's a Lambertain. I assume he took the optics out to take the picture. The main problem is he's international and getting the parts are a pain.[xx(]
