Thread: Conflicting metals?

    Default Conflicting metals?

Wow, haven't been in here in a while... This place sure has grown!

Well, I'm on the verge on building a new saber, but after having read the thread about painting metals, I'm concerned.

The base of my saber will be all MHS parts, with a sink tube overlay in certain sections (painted with a Rustoleum gold/brass). I read in the paint thread that certain metals will have bad reactions with one another. I'm curious if anyone here has experienced problems with said MHS and sink tube combinations?

Should I even be concerned, or am I overthinking this?

You're overthinking it, sinktubes and MHS pieces go together like icing and cake.

Unless you use it a lot especially outdoors the most I'd worry about is seized screws. If you take care of it it'd be long time before galvanic action startes to make things go bad.
