I still love our Nintendo 64. That was the main system I grew up with. I'd be playing it right now if my dad wasn't using it. He's been in a Zelda mood.
So I agree that graphics aren't what makes the game, but it makes it better, IMO.

It also depends on the game. If it is supposed to be immersing (Half-Life 2 anyone?), then the graphics have to be good or the experience is lost. If it is just a fun type of game (e.g. Super Smash Bros.), then yeah, graphics don't matter.

Has, as usual, I side with you on this.

Graphics, yeah they're important for alot of games, but for me Gameplay is more important. One word: Tetris.
I still play it now on my NES, and it's just cubes!!!!
My best mate bought a £800 HD TV a few months back, the first game he played on it, Super Mario Bros (circa 1985)

I love Half-life 2/ Bioshock/Halo3/ Gears of War graphically & gameplay wise, but so many games are beautiful to look at & fall flat on their backsides when gameplay comes into it, ala Heavenly sword.

I hear you on that one. Too many developers want to have the best looking game on the market, but they forget to make it enjoyable (sorry, Halo 2 was in this category).

Speaking of Tetris, I bought it for my original XBOX. Hours of fun, it is.

I agree that Gameplay>Graphics, but in this case, the graphics and gameplay are one in the same.

The main focus of The Force Unleashed is the "digital matter" physics engine, which makes for a more realistic use of force powers. This graphics engine cannot be ported to the Wii.

I love the Wii, don't get me wrong; I was literally first in line to buy one at launch. However, I'm buying a 360 this holiday, and The Force Unleashed will likely be one of the games I'll buy.

I doubt that the Wii version will have one-to-one sword controls anyway, as that would mean that you couldn't do the spins, tricks, etc (the controller isn't that sensitive, trust me). It'll likely be akin to the Jedi Knight series, in which you just pick the direction of your swing.

If the two versions are different enough, then I may buy them both. But I still believe that the 360 version will be superior. I'd rather that Lucasarts made a Wii-exclusive saber game rather than try to adapt a different game that wasn't designed for the console at all.

Nightwing, that is EXACTLY what I was trying to say by posting those videos. You just said it alot more clearly. My opinion stands with the facts, and nightwing has presented them PERFECTLY.

    Aye to that!

I just hope I can adapt to the saber fighting on a console controler. I'm just so used to a computer mouse, (JKA).

I finally got my hands on a Wii. I waited for three hours in line at the local Best Buy this morning to get one. That said I will be purchasing one of these bad boys soon. Does anyone have an exact date when Unleashed will be unleashed?
