Thread: Dooku hilt

  1. #1

    Default Dooku hilt

Does anyone know how to make a hilt like count Dooku's? I guess you would have to get a curved sink tube, but is there any other way, or where could you get a curved sink tube, thats nice and shiny like every good hilt should be?

I have yet to see an exact replica of a Dooku, but a curved one is possible. You have to have a pipe bender which for the sizes we use aren't cheap. This is difficult too with the type of pipe we use the tendency would be to make it flat on the inner curve. I'd see if a car/motorcycle shop that bends it's own exhausts might do it for you. The back half could be done with a angled pipe coupler.

i have yet to see a "dooku replica" that looks anything like dooku's hilt. most people use curves that are arc shaped, but dooku's is more angled than curved.

i am a nerd, if you don't like it, i will cut you with my lightsaber

I believe he's talking about just a curved or angled hilt, not necessarily a replica of Dooku's.
So has anyone seen a curved hilt at all?

I've seen decent attempts done with vacuum attatchments that have the curve to them. Scrap yards or if your local dump allows.

Is a curved hilt any good for dueling anyway? Isn't a curved hilt off-balance or something?

Blueprints are good for the measurements but aren't in a form a machinist can use. It's mostly a reference.
