As I work through this, I will post more information as to how it all works.
THANKS Jetsi!!
I have a board that I believe is identical to this, and have never had much use for it... mainly since I didn't even know how to work with it.
With your help, I'll be able to determine if the board can even produce sound, let alone function at all. I'll try it out someday after I wire up my new v2.61 CF boards...
If it works EL-wise, I'd like to make a light whip out of it!!

I think this board is toast, as I can't get any current from the EL wires, and I am unsure if it will work for sound as I think the speaker is toast as well (no resistance).
I can pick up some cheap headphones from work, tear them apart and try them on there to see if that will make it work, but if not this will end up in the parts bin.
It looks like MR had variations on this model as well. When I took mine apart, I found 2 circuit boards in there. One looks similar to the one you pictured, but there was a secondary board with parts and circuitry on it, smaller and round. I believe the first board was the inverter and fade circuit, and the second was the sound module. Can't test either because of that toast problem too...
