well, since there are no k2 lens holders in stock, is there a huge difference between the k2 lens holder and the lux 3 or 5? is there a way i could fabricate it to fit normally?

the only thing diff with the k2 and the lux 3 and 5 are the 2 plastic pieces that run across the holder. tim modifys his for the k2

Yup, just snap off the plastic parts that go around a normal III and it then fits around the square emitter of the K2.
