Do you realize the incredible danger that a real saber would create? At the slightest imprecision, you'd lose an arm, a leg, or a life. And what on earth would you need one for? I could see trained police officers using them to cut down doors, but why would a common citizen need one for personal use?

I am slightly torn, part of me says why in the fruitcake do you think we all make the sabers that we do. The other part of me says, did you really ask that question... Some people cant help but start a poll can they.

theyd be great for the construction and manufacturing industries, there are probably 10,000 practical purposes they could serve, think of any industry that needs precision cutting, throw a lightsaber into a machine where youd have a cutting blade. now you have something you never need to replace.
Sure you could use it for a tool, but even in the SW universe, the Jedi say that no one but a jedi (or a HIGHLY SKILLED non-jedi) can handle them correctly as weapons.
Now, I'd LOVE a training saber (the ones that burn but don't cut)

Why would you need more than one? They aren't exactly collectors items in the same way MR sabers are.
And they would probably cost many thousands of dollars, are you going to have that much money just lying around?
And I hope you wouldn't even think about using them for sparring with your friends. Not if you all hope to keep your limbs intact. And your lives.
Still, it might be cool to have one.
