Thread: Invertor is nothing like mine.

Default Invertor is nothing like mine.

I picked up the invertor from Tim and the wiring diagram in the tutorial look snothing like mine.

Mine has of course the red and black for the 12v battery, there is 2 black wires next to those and on the other side there is 2 white wires. The digrams dont list the white wires or the black ones. Im guessing that the white wires are connected 1 to each prong on the mono plug and the extra black ones aren't used.

You are correct on the white wires...the black wires are for hooking up your switch.

Sweet. thats even better. cause i didnt wanna have to cut the red wire to splice in a switch. this makes it much easier. Good show Timah!!!!

So you would run your LED from off the Black (Switch) wires then?

Umm... no inverter is EL. Inverter does not = driver for LED. I wonder what that'd do to an LED though... It'd be a cool show.[]

No I ment from the EL Hilt Wireing Guide. It shows an LED on the blue wire leading back to the battery. But with the extra 'switch' wires on the inverter, whould you simply conect the swithc, then the resister, then the LED, then to the other black wire?

How much power IS coming off that Inverter to the EL Wire? Would be need to see what happened. I've seen an LED & Resister smoke before, its not a fun smell. (Plugged into a 12v, when I thought I was in 5v =P )

No you would need to splice into the negative wire of the battery lead also.

You got a point there. Well, I'll know better when I get it all in the mail.
